Every day, more than 200,000 travellers flow through the gates; from tourists from around the world to commuters. Behind this constant stream of travellers is an army of unseen heroes. Approximately 900 dedicated employees work day and night to keep the station safe, clean, and on time - from the Control Room to the service staff to the warehouse staff. The 135-year-old building is an architectural masterpiece, but it is undergoing the largest renovation in its history. Building while the station is fully operational puts extra pressure on the staff. We follow the "heroes" who ensure that everything runs on time and safely every day. Where one persons journey ends, anothers begins. Amsterdam is celebrating its 750th anniversary, and Amsterdam Central Station stands at the heart of the festivities. Alongside the city’s milestone, station manager René marks 25 years of service. Ticket and Service employees Gusta and Alexandra join the anniversary celebrations, while keeping a close eye on autumn showers drifting toward the station. With record crowds pouring in for the historic year, kiosk employee Rosa anxiously awaits a delivery as warehouse worker Ron struggles to stay on schedule. Safety and Service officers Menno and Baran are deployed for the high-risk Ajax–Inter Milan match, where managing supporters proves demanding. And as a fierce autumn storm sweeps through the capital during this landmark celebration, track workers race against time to replace worn rails and keep the anniversary city moving.
