(Planes That Changed History: Season 1: Harrier) Historický Explore 125 years of aviation by uncovering how iconic aircraft have radically reshaped our world and revealing the ingenious engineering behind its success. Audiences will see the likes of the Concorde, the Boeing 747 jumbo jet and the Supermarine Spitfire as never before. Their stories will be brought to life on-screen through interviews with historians, pilots and aviation experts, rarely seen archive footage, and schematic 3D models. The Harrier jump jet was the worlds first production aircraft capable of vertical take-off and landing. It accomplished an aviation holy grail — combining the speed of a jet with the accessibility of a helicopter. Uncover the incredible engineering that unlocked this unique ability and its impact on the Falklands War (Guerra de las Malvinas) of 1982, where British Harriers were summoned to challenge the neighboring threat of Argentinian jet fighters.
